BOISE, Idaho — Gone are the days when installing a bridge would shut down traffic for weeks at a time! Instead, crews in downtown Boise getting the job done Saturday morning in a matter of hours!

The new sky bridge at St. Luke's hospital weighs a whopping 90 tons. The 123-foot pedestrian bridge was secured into place Saturday, providing a pathway from the main hospital to the new children's pavilion, currently under construction.

The $42 million facility is scheduled to open in Summer 2019.

For now, road closures remain in place around the bridge, but Jefferson Street could reopen to traffic as early as Sunday night.
