BOISE, Idaho — The Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) is holding the first news conference about the COVID-19 vaccine in Idaho at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Governor Brad Little, DHW director Dave Jeppesen and Public Health Administrator Elke Shaw-Tulloch will speak during the conference and update the public on the status of the vaccine.

The news briefings will happen every week. Governor Little will still be holding his bi-weekly COVID-19 updates as a separate news conference.

“The availability of the safe COVID-19 vaccine is a lifeline in our pandemic fight, and I know there are a lot of questions about vaccine distribution. My administration is committed to transparency and getting out the best information on the vaccine as effectively as possible,” said Governor Little.

So far in Idaho, 20,843 vaccine doses have been administered as of 10 a.m. on December 5. The Boise VA Medical Center said it has started offering the COVID-19 vaccine for enrolled veterans.
