TWIN FALLS — Cheverria's, a Mexican restaurant in Twin Falls has been offering pickup and delivery service these past weeks. Today the establishment found itself to be extremely busy for the celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

Co-Owner, Clarisa Sanovao stated, "We got here and the phone just did not stop ringing for a good two hours."

The restaurant, which has had to take several items off their menu offered many discounts for the occasion. Among the deals were spicy pork and sweet pork tacos for one dollar. If you brought one beer, you could get another half off, as well as combos for big orders such as tacos, rice, beans, and salsa, all for the price of twenty-five dollars.

It has been a tough adjustment period for this business during the pandemic. Cheverria's before COVID was primarily a market and dine in facility and have had to make changes. They did not offer delivery service but have utilized it as a way to make up for some of their lost income. Despite the loss of money, the majority of its workers have been able to stay on staff.

The community has been very supportive throughout this time, and the staff has been very appreciative. Sanovao said, "Thank you to all of our customers, all the people you know that are still following us. Honestly, we wouldn't be here without anybody, any of you guys."

The establishment hopes to re-open its dining room as soon as possible. Yet they will not do so until all of the proper guidelines and protocols are in place to keep customers safe.
