JEROME — Jerome city council voted to pass a face mask resolution, yesterday evening. Effective immediately, masks are heavily encouraged when out in public.

It also stresses the importance of following other safety guidelines such as social distancing and basic hand hygiene.

This comes a week after the South Central Public Health District passed a face mask resolution to stop the spread of COVID-19. Both the health district and Jerome do not plan on having any sort of the current time due to the difficulty of enforcing such a policy.

The city is encouraging businesses to participate in the resolution to keep customers and employees safe.

Jerome is contemplating using social media platforms and fliers in local businesses to spread the word of using masks in their community.
