An officer-involved shooting and house fire are under investigation in Ada County this morning.

Officers were called to the intersection of Linder and Amity around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a prowler in a home.

When officers arrived on scene, a person walked out the door with a long gun. A Kuna police officer and Ada County Sheriff's Deputy fired shots at that person who then went back into the home. There were three people in the home at that time.

Around 10:45 p.m. authorities say the house was on fire. They say people inside the house were barricaded with the armed man still inside the home. By 10:47 p.m. the house was fully engulfed in flames, officers broke two windows and two of the people were able to escape. The other person was not able to get out.

The home is a total loss. Water from fire retention efforts is making it difficult to collect evidence, according to officials.

Paramedics treated two of the residents at the scene and transported them to the hospital. One of the residents has since been flown to the Salt Lake City Burn Center.

The person with the long gun is not accounted for as of now. Officers have Amity Road between Ten Mile and Meridian Roads and Linder Road between Lake Hazel and Victory Roads closed off and say the scene is very dangerous. We have a crew on scene working to get more information.

We will continue to follow this breaking news and bring updates as soon as they are available.
