The winds have passed and thunderstorm activity is now impacting our friends to the west of Idaho, but the Gem state still saw a lot of activity of its own.
The storms brought lightning that caused a number of brush fires to pop up and were intensified by strong winds. Boise saw 68 MPH gusts come through. This knocked out power for over 20,000 people in Ada and Canyon county for a period of time. Winds downed many trees with many viewers sending in their own photos to WEATHER@KIVITVCOM. If you have any photos you would like to share of today's impacts, you can send them to this email.
Most of central Oregon saw activity as a massive portion of the state was under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for hours until coming to an end Thursday night. Parts of Washington heading into tonight will see the last push from this major system.

Damaging winds are considered anything over 58 MPH so most of Idaho and Oregon saw that level of gust pass through today.
Almost all advisories for our area have come to an end which included sever storm watches and wind advisories. The good news is we are headed towards better weather over the weekend. A slight cool down will shift into southern Idaho before giving way to warmer weather as June arrives. Temperatures are expected to hop back into the 90s at some point later this week with June tracking to have warmer than normal conditions.
Good news is we weathered the storm and it won't put to much of a damper on our weekend.
