Happy Thursday! A couple of cold fronts are heading to southwest Idaho, one arriving tonight and another Friday night, bringing significant cooling to the region for the upcoming weekend. However, we can expect one more warm afternoon on Friday, with high temperatures reaching the mid-80s.

While there will be limited precipitation with these cold fronts, a shower or two is possible north of McCall on Friday night into Saturday. The main impact will be gusty winds, especially for the Magic Valley and far southern Idaho.

A larger low-pressure system currently located off the coast of British Columbia will track eastward into northern Idaho by Monday night and Tuesday morning. For us here in southwest Idaho, this will bring unseasonably cool temperatures and gusty winds early next week.

High temperatures will drop into the 60s for valley floors and low to mid-50s for mountain communities. It will be cool enough for a light accumulating snowfall at locations above 7,000 feet.
