Taking care of business

The Broncos took care of business against Washington State Saturday night securing their 15th straight win in a home opener by the score of 31-28.

The victory was also Boise State’s 34th straight in a regular season non-conference home game. Boise State went nearly three-quarters without a penalty.

All week the Broncos' focus was on protecting the blue. Broncos Head Coach Harsin said although he might not have liked the defense to give up as many yards to Washington, this victory sets his team up for a great bye week.

“Our goal tonight was to win on the blue. Simple as that. That’s exactly what the guys did. Certainly, there are things in there that we can continue to improve to on this week. It’s week two so if I wasn’t saying that then I think we would be absolutely wrong,” said Harsin.

“It was a good test for us. It was nice to see what we are made of early. Credit to them, that quarterback can pretty much put the ball where he wants it. So it will definitely get corrected over next week,” said linebacker Ben Weaver.
