Last summer Boise State’s Linebacker Joe Martarano would juggle between football and baseball, but for this season he is all in on the gridiron.
For the past two summers Martarano played minor league baseball in the Chicago Cubs Organization.
Martarano enters this season as a junior and has some veteran presence, having started four times last season and having 53 tackles.
He says it's all about giving all he can to this team is why he is sticking with football.
"I think it's getting to the point where I need to choose one. When I would go in the summer I would start playing good and then I would just have to leave and put it off for a year, so then I would just come back rusty again and the same with football. You just have to put your focus into one. We have a lot of younger guys coming in on the D-line so I think it's going to be important for guys like me, Tanner, Weaver, Leighton, and to get with those younger D-lineman in the summer and have them hone in on our system here and what we do.” Said Linebacker Joe Martarano.
