Kuna High School Chosen for 4A Athletic Competition

The Idaho High School Athletic Association board has voted (8-6) to 6 in favor of kuna high school to compete at the 4A level for next year.

For next season Columbia, Kuna, and Nampa who are current members of the 5A Southern Idaho Conference will drop down to 4a level next year.

Kuna High School Athletic Director, Greg Carpenter stated: “this will place us in competitive posture with outstanding athletic programs and continue our tradition of strong school spirit and community support.  This is ultimately good for our student-athletes and coaches”

Kuna High School has approximately 1,600 students with 14 varsity sporting programs.

The trio will re-join the 4a southern Idaho conference and make a nine-school league.  Mountain home will also make a move.

The Tigers will drop down from the 4a level to the 3a level joining the Snake River Valley Conference next year.

At the 5A level, the conference will have a new member with Skyview making it A 10 member conference.
