Boise State held off a second-half rally to defeat Fresno State 81-70, Saturday at Taco Bell Arena. The Broncos (12-4, 3-0 MW) scored 51 points in the first half and built a 21-point lead before the Bulldogs (11-6, 2-2 MW) cut the margin to three. A late 12-3 run regained a double-digit lead for Boise State.
The Broncos. extended its win streak to nine games, tied for the second-longest win streak in program history. It is the first time the Broncos have won nine in a row since 1991-92. The school record is 10 consecutive wins, Dec. 29, 1987-Jan. 28, 1988.
They have won 17 consecutive games at home, the second-longest streak in program history. The Broncos have not lost at home since Jan. 3, 2015, against Utah State. The school record is 19 straight home wins March 2, 1997 to Jan. 17, 1999.
Up next the team will travel to Nevada for its next game Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. PT/8 p.m. MT in Reno, Nev. Nevada is 10-6 overall with a 2-2 record in MW play. The Wolf Pack defeated Air Force 86-63, Saturday.
