Derek McCormick who is the Bishop Kelly girls varsity basketball coach recently found out that he has Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

There is bright spot Derek’s oncologist feels optimistic that with urgent and aggressive chemotherapy treatment, the cancer cells can be eliminated from Derek’s body and get him back to a full recovery.
