GARDEN CITY, Idaho — Police arrest a suspect in Garden City shooting Tuesday morning.
On February 26, 2019, at 5:28 AM, Garden City Police were dispatched to a shooting at a house in the 200 block of East 44th Street. When officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he underwent surgery as a result of the injuries. The victim is currently in stable condition, and the injury does not appear to be life-threatening.
Witnesses to the shooting reported that the suspect fled the scene in a silver four-door Dodge pickup truck.
According to the press release, Garden City Police, with the assistance of the Boise Police, immediately responded and conducted an area search. Officers located a truck matching the description at West 37th and Chinden Blvd.
The driver was detained and identified as John Hewy Daniels, 33, of Greenleaf, Idaho. After the investigation, Daniels was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail for one count of felony aggravated battery.
Daniels will be arraigned on February 27 at 1:30 PM.
