CANYON COUNTY — Idaho State Police investigated a fatal two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon. The crash happened at about 2:56 p.m. on Market Road near Sand Hollow Road in Canyon County.
65-year-old Robert Murray of Council was traveling east on Market Road in a 2014 Dodge Ram. Murray crossed into the oncoming lane and hit 56-year-old Javier Animas Sobrevilla of Walla Walla, Washington. Animas Sobrevilla was traveling west in a 2001 Ford Expedition.
Animas-Sobrevilla died at the scene as a result of his injuries. Next of kin has been notified.
Everyone involved in the crash was wearing seatbelts. The passenger of the Ford Expedition, 45-year-old Deysi Thomsen, was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. There is no word on her condition.
