The intersection at Victory and Kings Roads is scheduled for a rebuild on Nov. 7, with the project expected to be completed by Nov. 9, weather permitting.
“The contractor does not plan to close down the intersection; however, lanes will be restricted with traffic control at the intersection,” said Nampa spokesperson Vickie Holbrook.
The intersection has severe asphalt cracks and wheel ruts, which can cause safety hazards, freight and commuter delay times and high maintenance costs, according to City Project Manager Jeff Barnes.
Keller and Associates has been hired to prepare design options, including a roundabout and signal at the intersection. The concept plans are expected to be complete in January of next year, Holbrook said. Funding has not been secured for construction; the concept plans will provide information necessary to seek federal grant monies.
The cost for the November intersection rebuild is $11,137, Holbrook said.
