MOSCOW — The University of Idaho men's basketball coach has been placed on administrative leave following a consultant's report finding potential NCAA violations.

School officials last week placed Don Verlin on administrative leave, school athletics department spokesman Mike Walsh told media outlets on Tuesday.

Walsh says Verlin's administrative leave is for 10 days but could be extended, shortened, or lead to Verlin's firing.

Walsh says there are three possible violations, and one involves a staff member practicing with the team. The other two potential violations were not detailed.

Walsh says a consulting firm called Ice Miller compiled the report that's a common practice carried out by schools to ensure compliance with NCAA rules.
