The Boise Police Department, Ada County Sheriff's Office and United Way of the Treasure Valley are teaming up for a good cause.

The groups are collecting new and gently-used children's shoes, sizes one through seven.

Boise Police say many local children don't have proper footwear to keep warm during the winter months.

"It's important that we continue to keep those who don't have as much safe and able to attend school and not be worried about their basic needs, so they have shoes on their feet and can stay warm," said Sgt. Sara Hill.

The shoe drive will continue through Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Donation boxes are available at the Ada County Sheriff's Office, the Boise Police station, Boise Towne Square Mall, and your local City Hall.
