After only nine minutes into the new year, Saint Alphonsus wins the race for the first baby born in the Treasure Valley.
At 12:09 a.m. Friday morning Ella Lyle was born to Amy and Kevin Lyle weighting in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce and just short of 21 inches long.
Just short of an hour later at 1:06 a.m. West Valley medical center also announced their first baby in the new year.
Sophia was born 8 pounds, 10 ounces to Sierra and Jose of Caldwell.
Saint Luke's also had their first baby of the year at 1:10 a.m. Friday morning.

Emersyn Bennett was born 6 pounds, 15 ounces to mother, Lindsey, and father, Sean.
All of the families received a special gift basket, along with the well wishes of the healthcare professionals who were their to support them.
