For 89 years, Meridian residents have assembled to celebrate Meridian’s dairy industry. Meridian Dairy Days started on June 20th and will run until June 23rd.

Highlights of the 89th Meridian Dairy Days include Brown’s Amusement Carnival, the 68th annual Pancake Feed and The ‘Real Dairy’ Parade. Organizers are planning for 100 floats and roughly 25,000 to 30,000 parade attendees.

The “Real Dairy” Parade is on Friday, June 22 at 6:45 p.m. and the parade route will affect roads in the downtown Meridian area from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Drivers should consider alternate routes if possible.

“No Parking” signs will be installed along the route starting at 2:00 p.m. and Meridian Police will begin closing roads at 5:00 p.m. Main Street, 2 ½ Street, and 3rd Street will be closed as will the streets that run east and west between Meridian Road and 3rd Street and Franklin and Fairview (including portions of Franklin Road and Fairview Avenue).

Also, Pine between Locust Grove and Meridian Road remains closed due to construction. Northbound Meridian Road will be heavily congested due to the detours. Flaggers will be in place to route drivers.
