A person has died following a three-vehicle crash that occurred on eastbound I-84 west of Mountain Home, according to the Idaho State Police.

The incident occurred at 8:48 am at milepost 77.5 when a 2010 Toyota Tacoma that was headed westbound on I-84 left the roadway, crossed the median and entered the eastbound lanes.

The Toyota was hit by a semi-truck that was hauling tires and axles.

The semi-truck then jackknifed, and the cab came to rest in the median with the trailer blocking both eastbound lanes of I-84.

A different driver who was headed on westbound I-84 in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado swerved to avoid tires that fell off the semi-truck, and entered the median where he stopped.

The driver of the Toyota died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.  A passenger was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

A passenger in the Silverado was also transported to St. Alphonsus with unknown injuries..

All lanes of traffic were reopened by 11:45 am.

The victim has not been identified.
