BOISE — Idaho Transportation Department officials say heavy snow storms are impacting several major highways in the central mountains.

They say U.S. Highway 95 is reopen this morning between Council and New Meadows. Idaho Highway 21 remains closed from Mores Creek Summit to Lowman. and extremely poor driving conditions are reported along Highway 55 (pictured), especially between Banks and Cascade. Drivers are asked to avoid that stretch if possible.

ITD also says all available plow crews are trying to clear the highways.
