As Boise State students prepare for the start of a new semester they’ll have a little extra room to drive around campus.
Broadway Avenue from Cesar Chavez Lane to University Drive opens today. Cesar Chavez Lane will also open and a new traffic light will start operating at the corner of University and Broadway.
Crews have worked to widen and repave the road between Cesar Chavez Lane and University while also adding sidewalk, curb and a gutter. Crews also built a retaining wall on the campus side of Broadway.
The openings come as work on the Broadway Bridge continues. Construction crews had to rebuild the bridge because of its age as it no longer met current standards. That work is set to be complete on schedule early this fall.
