The wreckage of a Cessna 182 flown by 34-year-old Boisean Nolan Smith has been found just south of Smiths Ferry, a remote area in southwest Idaho north of Banks, according to a news release from the Idaho Transportation Department.

Smith’s body was also recovered at the scene. The discovery was made by Idaho’s Civil Air Patrol Monday afternoon.

The aircraft went missing Sunday. The pilot left Boise, without a filing a flight plan, just after noon yesterday -- reportedly bound for McCall. It never arrived.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration will begin their investigations into the incident.

The Valley County Coroner also will assist with the investigation, the ITD said.
