The Nampa Salvation Army is reporting that five red kettles were stolen on Thursday night resulting in an estimated loss of $2,500.
The money was collected and stored at the Nampa headquarters. The cash was locked up for the night and an alarm was set.
On Friday morning, workers discovered that the cash was gone and called police.
A police report has been filed with the Nampa Police Department.
However, any public assistance would be appreciated.
“Any information the community can provide us regarding the theft is very helpful,” Captain Maureen Lawliss, Corps officer said. “Our red kettle campaign helps sustain our programs year round. It is not just a loss to The Salvation Army but to the donors who gave so generously and to those who would be assisted with those funds.”
Call the Nampa Police Department non-emergency number at (208) 465-2257 if you have any information.
