BOISE — Idaho's junior Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) will return to Washington, D.C. to serve a third six-year term in the U.S. Senate.

Risch ended Tuesday night with 58.94% of the vote, ahead of Democratic Party challenger Paulette Jordan's 37.24% percent. While election totals are not finalized, the Senator led by 119,563 votes at the end of Election Night.

Risch replaced Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig and won his first election in 2008 over Democrat Larry LaRocco. He defeated Democrat Nels Mitchell in 2014 for his first re-election.
