Homeowners go through house after "tenant" moves

After thousands of dollars in lawyer and court fees and a story that went national, the Prindle family in Nampa once again has possession of their home.

Now the homeowners are assessing the damage they say was done inside of the home by a stranger who moved in more than a month ago without their knowledge. The woman claimed she signed a lease to rent the property from a man the homeowners had never heard of.

Nampa Police Officers assisted in moving Debbra Smith’s things out of the home earlier this week but the homeowners must now clean marks on the walls, split door frames, damaged carpet and the smell of cigarettes before they can transfer the home to an elderly California woman.

The Prindles have talked about filing a criminal complaint against Smith but are focusing on cleaning up the property at this time.
