A moving company worker is in the Ada County Jail, after police say he sexually assaulted a young woman Saturday at a home her family was moving into.

Meridian Police arrested Mathew Rodriguez, 19, of Carson City, Nevada on one felony count of forcible sexual penetration with a foreign object and one misdemeanor count of providing false information to law enforcement.

Police say Rodriguez, who was working for an out-of-state  moving company, assaulted a 19-year-old woman in a bedroom of the home her family was moving into on the 600 block of W. Dreyfuss Lane.

“Rodriguez (reportedly) forced her onto a bed when she was unpacking and began to sexually assault her,” said Meridian Police Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea. “The victim told Rodriguez “No!”, told him to “Get out!” -- and then notified her family members, who stopped the Rodriguez from leaving.”

“We are not revealing the foreign object at this time,” he added.

Family members then contacted the Meridian Police Department.

Rodriguez was arrested without incident.

He was booked into the Ada County Jail Saturday evening.
