The Nampa Police Department has charged a woman in connection with a Sunday night stabbing that left two victims hospitalized.

Paula Gaitan was booked into the Canyon County Jail on two counts of Aggravated Battery, after the Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force located her at a Nampa residence around 4:15 p.m. Monday.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned the victims were acquainted with one another; however, their relationship was not close.

The stabbing took place in the 400 block of 1st Street North. About 8:45 pm Sunday, the Nampa Police Department received a call that two victims had arrived at a local hospital with stab wounds.

“One is an 18-year-old Nampa resident and the other is a 25-year-old Nampa resident,” said Sgt. Don Peck in a news release.

Both women had serious injuries and were admitted to a local hospital for treatment. No further information on their conditions was available.

At this time, officials say this does not appear to be a gang or drug-related crime. The investigation is ongoing.

If anyone has further information about the stabbing, they are asked to contact the Nampa Police at 465-2257 Information can also be given anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS or on the internet at 343COPS.com.
