BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department will begin overnight seal coating, a method of preserving pavement, on Idaho Highway 44 this week. Work is expected to be complete by early September.

Work will begin at the junction with I-84 and move east until it reaches the intersection of ID-55 North. Crews will be working overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. During those times, speed limits and the number of travel lanes will be reduced. Flaggers and a pilot car will control traffic. The work will be noisy for nearby residents. ITD encourages everyone to slow down, follow posted speed signs, and watch for crews working in the area.

Seal coats are a cost-effective way to improve the conditions of the pavement and preserve the life of the roadway.

The contractor on this $2 million project is Boswell Asphalt Solutions, Inc. More information can be found here.
