Man in custody after domestic stand-off in Nampa

A Nampa neighborhood is now back open after a domestic-related standoff.

Nampa police officers say they were escorting a woman back to her home Monday morning near Sugar Street and Spicewood Avenue, after a domestic dispute Sunday night.

After entering the home, the victim and officers believed that the suspect had entered the home since the prior evening and suspected he could be inside the house.

Suspecting it may be the assailant in the domestic situation, police brought a SWAT team and an MRAP (mine-resistant ambush protected) vehicle to the neighborhood. They also blocked off the subdivision entrance as a precaution.

After surrounding the home, the man -- Kyle Grenz -- surrendered without incident.

Grenz has been charged with felony domestic battery in the presence of a child and
