Update: Nampa Police have arrested 23-year-old Austin Jeffery Durham of Nampa in connection with two armed robberies earlier this afternoon near Nampa's CWI campus.

Police say Durham robbed a Port of Subs and a Los Betos restaurant just minutes apart.

"During the course of the investigation, Nampa Police Property Crime Detectives spotted a
vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in a location near the area of the
robberies," a press release stated. "After making contact with the owners of the van which led them to a residence, a suspect in the robberies was arrested."

Durham has been booked into the Canyon County Jail and faces two charges of Armed Robbery.

Two Nampa businesses were held up by an armed robber within minutes of each other Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The first robbery took place about 4:05 p.m. at  Los Betos restaurant in the 16000 block of Idaho Center Blvd.

The second happened about ten minutes later at the Port of Subs restaurant in the 5800 block of East Franklin Road, only a short distance from the first incident.

At the Los Betos restaurant, the suspect entered the business and demanded money. An employee
of the restaurant thought she saw a handgun in the suspect’s waistband area, but it was never
brandished. The employee gave a small undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, and he put it
into a backpack and fled the scene. Nobody was injured during this robbery. A witness saw a
man run out of the business around the north end of the building and get into a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male, mid-20’s, with a long dark-colored beard, wearing a
dark sweatshirt, dark-colored basketball shorts with an orange stripe, knit beanie with an
American flag design, no shoes, short black socks and carrying a red backpack. The suspect got
into a green mini-van that is possibly an early 2000’s model.

At the Port of Subs restaurant, a suspect entered the business and demanded cash from an employee. The suspect quickly fled the restaurant northbound on foot. He did not steal anything from the Port of Subs, and nobody was injured during this robbery.

The suspect was seen running east in front of the Hampton Inn & Suites in the 5700 block of East
Franklin Road and it is unknown where he went from that location.

After being notified of these robberies, Nampa Police dispatch sent an alert to the College of
Western Idaho and a daycare business in the area, informing them of the incidents occurring close
to them. Police believed that the same suspect committed both of the robberies.

Nampa Police are currently investigating both robberies.
