A Meridian man is in the Elmore County Jail charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.
According to Elmore County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Mike Barclay, Deputy Garrett Kinnan stopped a vehicle Tuesday in the 200 block of South Second East in Mountain Home for a traffic violation.
“The driver (identified as Cord Palmer, 26) and two occupants were acting nervous and suspicious,” Barclay stated.
So the deputy called for backup and Mountain Home Police officers arrived to help out. Kinnan deployed his drug dog who alerted on possible narcotics.
“A search of the car revealed 5.3 pounds of marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine, and suspected acid strips,” Barclay said.
Investigators say they seized the 2001 Volkswagen Passat and $488 in U.S. currency during the investigation.
Palmer was arrested on the drug charges.
The other two occupants were released at the scene.
