Meridian man arrested after early-morning "shots fired" call

A Meridian man has been booked into the Ada County Jail after witnesses told people someone fired multiple shots toward a group of people.

At 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Boise Police officers responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of W. Fairview Ave. and N. Mitchell St. in west Boise.

“Witnesses say a man in a vehicle fired multiple shots in the general direction of a group of people. The suspect also drove his vehicle toward a victim, causing the victim to have to jump out of the way,” stated a Boise Police Department news release.

The suspect then left the scene. 

No one was injured in the incident, and officers were unable to locate any damage from the gun shots. 

Officers searched the area and found the suspect’s vehicle and the suspect in Meridian.  

The suspect, identified as Cody Wentworth, 25, was taken into custody and booked on two counts of felony aggravated assault.
