Fruitland man's body recovered from the Snake River near Payette

PAYETTE COUNTY, Idaho — The Payette County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man's body is recovered from the Snake River. It happened in the Payette area.

The body was reported to deputies around 7:30 Thursday night. Deputies, along with the Payette County Swift Water Rescue Team, responded to the area and discovered the body.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 22-year-old Sean Gerdau, who Fruitland police previously reported as missing.
