On October 14, 2017, at around 4:50 p.m. the Idaho State Police responded to a two vehicle fatality crash on Simplot Blvd and Notus Road in Caldwell.
Joselyn Valenzuela, 18 of Wilder, was headed south on Notus Road along with two juveniles in a 1999 Mercury Mystique. Greg Granden of Caldwell and his passenger Kent Granden of Homedale were headed west on Simplot Blvd in a 1986 Ford F150 pulling a trailer. Valenzuela attempted to turn eastbound onto Simplot boulevard and failed to yield to Granden when her vehicle was struck. Both vehicles came to rest on the southbound side of Simplot Blvd.
Joselyn Valenzuela succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Greg Granden as well as both juvenile passengers were transported by ground ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell. Kent Granden was not transported. All occupants were wearing seatbelts except for one juvenile passenger.
Next of kin has been notified.
This crash is currently under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
