BOISE, Ida. — First Lady Teresa Little stopped by the Idaho State Museum Tuesday, sitting down with young museum visitors for a book reading.

Little and the children read "The Great Indoors," written by Julie Falatko and illustrated by Ruth Chan. The group then took part in a hands-on activity that included creating animal track booklets.

The visit and activities are all part of the "Summertime Stories" summer program at the Idaho State Museum which is hosted every Tuesday during summer at the museum. Summertime Stories is ideal for children Pre-K through 2nd grade and their caregivers. It's included with paid admission to the museum and free to Idaho State Historical Society Members. The program helps create knowledgeable citizens and improve literacy in young learners by reading aloud books that connect children and families to themes from Idaho's history.
