The Ada County Sheriff’s Office says the body of a fisherman who disappeared in the Snake River Sunday has been recovered.
“The body of 22-year-old Devin Mazac … was recovered from the water Wednesday night,” according to an ACSO twitter feed.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office lists the cause of death as accidental drowning.
Sheriff’s Office deputies and dive team personnel searched the waters starting about 8 p.m. Sunday, after reports of a man who had lost his footing while fishing, fell into the water, and was swept downstream. Witnesses said he came up out of the water a short while later, but then disappeared again.
Mazac was not wearing a life jacket.
Searchers continued looking Monday morning, but later called off their search.
No further details on how the body was recovered were immediately available.
