BOISE, Idaho — More than 100 Treasure Valley children from Family Advocates' programs got the chance to go holiday shopping with local police and firefighters Saturday morning.

The groups met up at the Goodwill in the Northgate Shopping Center Saturday morning between 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Each child was provided with a gift card to the Goodwill store, while volunteers helped with gift wrapping, treats, and taking pictures with Santa.

“Just being able to partner with the different agencies, the non-profit organizations, the great businesses that we have in the community, and being able to take part in hopefully making a difference and putting a smile on some kids faces; to us that’s what this is all about," Boise Police Sergeant Joe Martinez said.

Family Advocates works with trained volunteers to keep kids safe and help strengthen families in the Treasure Valley. Easterseals-Goodwill’s mission is: Together, we create opportunities that change lives.
