PARMA, Idaho — Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one woman dead Sunday morning.

Officers were called to US-20 west of Gotsch Rd, near Parma around 6:00 a.m.

Police say Crystal Bates, 32, of Boise, was driving eastbound in a 2002 Suzuki GVT when she crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta head-on, driven by Carlos Lopez-Zeferino, 29, of Caldwell.

Both drivers were transported via air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where authorities say Bates died from her injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Next of kin has been notified.

The lanes were blocked for about four hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
