The FCC chairman made a visit to the VA in Boise on Thursday, June 21st, 2018.

Ajit Pai was in town taking a look at the Veterans Telehealth Facility as part of his Digital Opportunity tour.

The goal is to look into various aspects of the digital divide- the gap between those who have internet access and those who don't and close that divide.

Pai says he looks forward to taking some of the lessons he learned here in Idaho back to Washington.

"I think there's some really innovative stuff happening in Idaho all up in Coeur d'Alene where I visited Red Spectrum which is delivering internet access to the reservation there, all the way down here to Boise. There's really an appetite for broadband and all the things that broadband can deliver whether it's telemedicine or precision agriculture," said Ajit Pai.

The digital opportunity tour makes stops in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
