BOISE — The Western Michigan Broncos and the BYU Cougars will face off in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on the blue at Albertsons Stadium this Friday at 2:00 p.m.

"It's exciting to play on that blue turf, you don't get many chances to come out here and do that," said Austin Lee a BYU defensive back.

The teams have already arrived in Boise and they have a whole week of activities where the teams can continue to bond after a long season while also checking out what the city of trees has to offer.

On Tuesday both squads made their way up to Bogus Basin and spend the day tubing down the hill in the snow.

"It was fun, it's different than what I've done," said Lee.

On Monday both teams helped Albertsons tackle hunger as they boxed up 40,000 meals to feed the hungry.

"We love the opportunity to help out, we love the opportunity to give service," said BYU linebacker Butch Pau'u. "Today we have this opportunity to come and tube and there is more events planned for the rest of the week."

On Wednesday teams will receive their bowl gifts, Thursday night will feature the Mash Bash at the Grove Plaza with marching bands and cheer squads getting fans pumped up and on Friday their is the Albertsons Fan Fest from 11-2 before the game.

The game will kickoff at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and tickets are still available for the 22nd Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

"We are just grateful that the Idaho Potato Bowl has selected us and that we get to participate in this game on Friday," said Pau'u.
