Family injured in Elmore County farm accident

Posted

Three people were injured after a farm accident in Elmore County Monday night.

The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office says emergency crews were called to a farm south of Mountain Home after a report of an electrocution on April 18th.

The people, two adults and a juvenile, were injured after a field hand-line sprinkler hit an overhead power line.  Witnesses say they saw three-foot arcs of electricity move between the ground and the power pole.

One of the people injured, Shelly Dodge, was first taken to Saint Alphonsus in Boise before being moved to a burn center in Salt Lake City.  Her husband, Matthew Dodge, was treated at St. Luke’s Elmore and released.  The third person injured, a juvenile, was taken to St. Luke’s Elmore before being transferred to a Boise hospital.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for medical bills and transportation costs.  You can donate by clicking here.
