Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation officials said Thursday Eagle Island State Park will re-open for public access this Saturday.
“With river levels stabilizing and water receding, park staff have been able to evaluate current conditions and access necessary clean-up,” said Jennifer Okerlund, IDPR Communications Manager. “It’s been determined that Eagle Island State Park can safely re-open this Saturday.”
The trails within the park, with the exception of the trail around the lake, will remain closed until further notice. The disc golf course is also closed until further notice, she added.
“The open fields that surround the park still have standing water or are very wet,” said Gary Shelley, Eagle Island State Park Manager. “It’s important that all vehicles stay on paved roads and park within paved parking areas.”
