Driver cited for crash that injured Boise child

Posted

The driver of a minivan that hit and seriously injured a Boise five-year-old has been cited for the crash.

Boise Police gave the driver, Scholastique Twagirayesu, a ticket for inattentive driving today.

The crash happened on September 23rd.

Max Wyatt was riding his bike at the corner of Owyhee and Kootenai around 5 p.m. when he was hit.  He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was eventually taken to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

The ticket comes as Max and his family are preparing to return to Boise after his hospital stay.  A gofundme page set up for the family after the crash says Max has been discharged from the hospital and after a couple more meetings with doctors today and tomorrow the family is coming home.

Since it was created in September the gofundme page has raised more than $90,000.
