A Caldwell man has died following a crash south of Nyssa, Oregon around 8:00 am, January 13th.
According to the Oregon State Police, a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup driven by Lawrence DeMarse Jr., 52, of Caldwell, was northbound on State Route 201 South near mile post 11 and failed to negotiate a curve.
DeMarse drove off the roadway which caused his vehicle to go airborne and crashed down an embankment.
The pickup rolled which caused DeMarse to be ejected from the vehicle where he died a short time later.
OSP Troopers determined that DeMarse was not wearing safety restraints.
OSP troopers from the Ontario Area Command are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. It is unknown whether impairment was a contributing factor.
