Caldwell Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for a jewelry store theft Tuesday.
About 11 a.m. Wednesday, detectives from the Caldwell Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit arrested Michael J. Spence, 42, of Nampa. Officers say he was hiding behind a dumpster in the parking lot of a hotel in the 100 block of Shannon Drive in Nampa.
The theft occurred at Norman’s Jewelers in Caldwell.
Police circulated a surveillance photo showing the suspect looking directly at the camera, while making no attempt to conceal his face. Police say a number of tips led to the arrest.
Spence is being held at the Canyon County Jail on felony charges of grand theft and burglary.
“The investigation is ongoing and further arrests may soon be made,” said Caldwell Police Lt Joey Hoadley.
