Caldwell bank robbery suspect arrested

Caldwell bank robbery suspect was arrested shortly after fleeing on Thursday, police reported.

On December 13, 2018 at about 11:40 a.m., Caldwell Police Officers were dispatched to the Wells Fargo Bank located in the 5200 block of E. Cleveland in Caldwell for a bank robbery.

When officers arrived at the scene, witnesses reported a man just robbed the bank and left the area eastbound on Caldwell Blvd in a green GMC Yukon.

While Caldwell Police were responding to the bank, Nampa Police detectives noticed the suspect vehicle traveling eastbound on Caldwell Blvd near Abraham, Nampa Police officers coordinated a traffic stop on the vehicle and took the man into custody near Canyon/Caldwell Blvd in Nampa.

The suspect, 24-year-old, Jesus Carbajal of Parma, was arrested and transported back to Caldwell for questioning.

Officers recovered the bank bag and money reported stolen during the robbery inside the Carbajal's vehicle.

Carbajal was booked into the Canyon County Jail on a felony charge of robbery and burglary.

None of the victims inside the bank were harmed during the robbery.
