The number of buildings and vehicles damaged by vandals using a BB or pellet gun has increased in recent days, and the areas in which the crimes have occurred has widened.
The string of vandalism now stretches from downtown to west Boise -– and investigators now say at least 34 businesses or vehicles were damaged.
Most of the vandalism has taken place along State Street between Glenwood and 27th Streets.
Damaged windows were also located in a number of other areas -- on the Boise Bench on Vista Avenue and Orchard Street, near Cole and Overland Roads in west Boise, and as far north as Hill Road, according to a map provided by the Boise Police Department.
The recent cases of vandalism happened on October 24 and October 25, a Boise Police Department news release said.
In the original spree on October 18, officers received information that an unknown number of suspects were seen driving a blue or dark green Ford Explorer or Chevrolet SUV with no rear plate.
Anyone who believes their property has been vandalized is urged to file a police report by calling Ada County dispatch at 208-377-6790. If anyone has any information about the person or persons responsible, they are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS (2677), www.343COPS.com, or leave a tip using the “P3 Tips” app for your mobile device.
Officers say would also like to hear from anyone who may have surveillance video in the area near where the vandalism occurred on the 24th and 25th.
