Darrell Jackson, 58, of Boise is now facing a felony vehicular manslaughter charge after police say he left a roadway and struck and killed a pedestrian with his vehicle.
It happened about 6:45 p.m. October 1st when Menite Millien was walking along the sidewalk near the intersection of South Maple Grove Road and West Brookview Court in west Boise.
Witnesses said an older white pickup truck was traveling southbound on Maple Grove when the driver left the roadway and struck Millien. The pedestrian died at the scene.
“The Boise Police investigation into this crash was extensive and several pieces of evidence including toxicology tests were sent to in-state and out-of-state labs. The Boise Police Crime Lab and Crash Reconstruction Team also assisted in the investigation,” said a BPD news release. No further details were available.
Jackson was arrested Friday and booked into the Ada County Jail.
