Many turn to Better Business Bureau to find trustworthy companies. BBB is working to make that search easier than ever by launching a mobile app.

"With more than 30 million businesses in North America, it's hard to find verified, unbiased information. The BBB app makes finding a trustworthy business or service easy based on the user’s location," said BBB's Dale Dixon.

The new app was created locally in Idaho.

"Every four seconds, someone researches a business with BBB. The BBB app makes it easier on the go with easy category search. Users can choose between categories to find the type of business they are looking for in their area. The locations can be viewed in map form or a list version," Dixon continued.

Business ratings and accreditation statuses are listed on the app. As well as scam alerts and warnings.

"BBB will periodically send alerts through the app to inform users about scams and consumer protection news happening in their area. Have a family member in California? Or taking a trip to Florida? The BBB app also lets users choose up to three zip codes from which to receive scam alerts," Dixon said.

The BBB app is in the Google Play and Apple App Store. It can be searched by typing in "Better Business Bureau." You can also search from your mobile browser on your cell phone. Go to bbbapp.org and it will automatically direct you to the app.
